Vinyasa yoga is breath-synchronized movement, based on the performance of a series of poses in which movement is initiated and dictated by the breath. A Vinyasa class will typically start with a number of Sun Salutations to warm up the body for more intense stretching and deeper poses done at the end of class. It is an invigorating class and provides students with physical challenge as well as an opportunity to engage in meditation while uniting movement with the breath.
